The BANZ! Project is an ongoing project I started to document a mysterious tagger known as BANZ! in the downtown Springfield, MO area. While daunting in scope, the project enabled me to explore parts of Springfield that I otherwise would not go to, as well as find the hidden areas often overlooked. This project is constantly updating, with new tags discovered almost every week.
Casual Portraits attempts to capture the everyday moments of life and shed an artistic light on them. Inspired by Larry Sultan's "Pictures from Home", I explored the daily lives of my friend's and family to capture their personalities, interests, ideas, and beliefs.
The Decaying Midwest is a series that explores the dieing boom towns in and around Missouri. These photos highlight the once prominent, bustling towns of old highways and tourist attractions that are now decaying and surviving on the brink of civilization.
In my spare time I also do film photography, utilizing several different cameras. These include a Minolta X-700, a Nikon F2 & F3, a Mamiya RZ67, and several point and shoots.
